2010 Loss Prevention Seminar
Wednesday, March 31, 2010
On March 23, Salvatore Insurance, along with the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association, hosted the annual Loss Prevention Seminar in Moncton, New Brunswick at the Delta Beausejour.
We thank all those who were able to attend.
Dennis Anderson, FMCSA, came up from Maine to give a talk about the new CSA 2010 requirements. Dr. Neil Smith, of The Snore Shop, kept us awake with his energetic talk on Sleep Apnea and other sleep disorders. Then we had a panel consisting of experts in the industry, Sylvain Tessier of Markel, John-David Salvatore of Salvatore Insurance Brokers, Sarah Kirby of Ritch Durnford Lawyers, and Troy Skinner of Cunningham Lindsay Adjusters to discuss the often confused issue of Load Brokering which created quite a stir. After lunch, Guy Ouellette from the Insurance Bureau of Canada walked us though what to do about theft of cargo and the precautions to take to avoid it. And Kevin Dutchak of Markel finished the seminar off with information on Pre-Trip Inspections and how to promote a culture of safety in your company. The seminar was a great success.
We'd like to thank Markel and Aviva who sponsored the event, and we'd also like to thank Markel, Aviva, IFS and Zurich for donating door prizes.
Below are a few pictures of some of the presenters and guests, and the links to the presenter's websites.
